Alice and students outside the church
The school celebrated the Feast Day of Mary Aikenhead, the Sister who founded the Sisters of Charity.
The children were asked to wear colonial dress. The children had lessons in their classroom just as they did in 1830's. After recess the children experienced a flag raising ceremony with the Union Jack and the singing of the national anthem God Save our Queen. This was followed by a period of marching which is good for the body and soul.

Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Stage 2 have been learning all about decimals. Today we put our brains and bodies to the test! We did some races and recorded our times to 2 decimal places. Then we did some hard thinking and ordered our numbers using our knowledge of decimals to see who was the fastest runner in Stage 2. Can you guess who it is? We also calculated the difference between the times of many runners using our skills of placing decimals on a number line. What a fun maths lesson!

We have exciting news! At the end of Term 3 Stage 2 entered a Spooky writing and art competition. And today we have been contacted to say we have two amazing artists and four amazing writers who are finalists and in the running to win the big prize! How exciting! The winners will be announced at a spooky event at Rosey Ravelston bookshop at Lawson next Saturday night (1st November) starting at 6 30pm. Congratulations to Isy Sophie Troy Aiden Zander Annie. Mrs Clarke and some other teacher will attend the event and we would love you to join us. This is a family friendly event that includes a scavenger hunt and is open to all.

🌊 Stage 2 Excursion to Narrabeen! 🌿 What an awesome day exploring the beach environment! We did an experiment to demonstrate beach erosion using our white tubs, got hands-on with weather instruments to check temperature, wind speed, direction, and humidity, and discovered fascinating plants and animals in the rock pools. 🌟 Term 4: Gymnastics with ZING Active! 🤸♀️🤸♂️ This term, our students will have a fantastic time exploring the world of gymnastics through the ZING Active program! Designed to teach children various ways to move their bodies, the program focuses on developing fundamental movement skills—both locomotion and non-locomotion—tailored to their age and learning goals. Throughout the sessions, students will practice safe movement techniques while mastering specialised skills on a variety of equipment. It is amazing to see their confidence grow as they refine their abilities! Beyond physical skills, the children will also strengthen their interpersonal skills by learning to participate safely and respectfully with their peers.
