Alice and students outside the church
The school celebrated the Feast Day of Mary Aikenhead, the Sister who founded the Sisters of Charity.
The children were asked to wear colonial dress. The children had lessons in their classroom just as they did in 1830's. After recess the children experienced a flag raising ceremony with the Union Jack and the singing of the national anthem God Save our Queen. This was followed by a period of marching which is good for the body and soul.

Little Lyrebirds Playgroup is a FREE event for all little ones aged 0 - 6. Held at St Canice's Primary School every Wednesday of the school term, 9am-10:30am. Everyone is welcome.

We were lucky enough to witness the supreme musical skills of The Phoenix Collective Quartet as they performed for us all in the hall, this morning. Over the last few weeks during music lessons with Ms Frazer, all stages have been working through a Musica Viva program called Game Day. 🎨🌸 Stage 2 Art Spotlight! 🌸🎨 Today in art, our Stage 2 students explored bright, bold colours to create stunning watercolour flower paintings. Using black oil pastels, they outlined each section, giving their flowers a striking and unique angle. We reminded the children of the famous artist Claude Monet, who once said, “I must have flowers, always, and always.” His words encouraged us to pause and appreciate the beauty of nature that surrounds us every day. Student mobile phone use will be banned across 80 Western Sydney Catholic schools from the beginning of the 2026 school year. The restriction presents a positive opportunity to enhance student outcomes, both in academic excellence and wellbeing.

Term 4 Music with Ms Frazer is a HUGE one for Stage 3. As well as preparing for an upcoming Musica Viva show and a variety of end of year performances in and outside of school, the year 5/6 students moved into small groups or bands during their music lessons. The goal of these bands is to work cooperatively, while generating and listening to each other's ideas to create, rehearse and perform their own original piece of music. The students will have to recollect and utilise all perviously learned content regarding tempo, feel, genre, dynamics, simple notation and score development. These pieces will be showcased at our Music Extravaganza which will be held in the hall on Wednesday 10th December from 1pm. Come along!
