Another highlight from last weeks' Musica Viva performance was hearing the Phoenix Collective play The American Quartet by Dvorak! The students in Stage 1 are learning how to play pickleball for sport! 🏓 Our students are loving pickleball — and for good reason! This fun, fast-paced sport comes with so many benefits: 🌟 Physical: Improves coordination, balance, agility, and overall fitness — all while being low-impact and safe for growing bodies. 🌟 Social: Encourages teamwork, communication, and making new friends. Kids learn sportsmanship and build confidence along the way! 🌟 Mental: Boosts focus, quick decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Plus, it’s a great stress reliever and loads of fun! Pickleball is quickly becoming a favorite, and we love seeing our students grow and shine on the court! 🙌💛

🏀 Stage 3 Diocesan Basketball Gala Day 🏀 What an incredible day of teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit at the Stage 3 Diocesan Basketball Gala Day! ✨ A Special St Canice’s Tradition ✨ Recently, we celebrated one of our favourite St Canice’s traditions! Ms Rose and our beloved Darug–Gundungurra Elder, Aunty Carol, came together to guide our Year 6 students as they passed on their role as custodians of our school totem to our new Year 5 leaders. This year was especially meaningful as we marked the 10-year anniversary of our totem, The Three Sisters — a beautiful gift from Aunty Carol to our school. It symbolises walking together alongside Aboriginal culture, friendship, deep respect for Mother Earth, and our shared responsibility to care for the environment. Together, we listened to stories from Aunty Carol, reflected on our learning, and practiced stillness and awareness as a way of connecting with ourselves, our environment, and our community. 🌿 Thank you, Aunty Carol, for your generosity, wisdom, and the kindness you continue to share with us. Our school community is so much richer for it.
