🌟 Congratulations to our Lyrebird Award recipients! 🌟 At St Canice’s, our Positive Behaviour Support for Learning program (PBS4L) is an integral part of our school community. Our students strive to Love Selflessly, Live Responsibly, and Learn Purposefully, and these values are encouraged daily by our dedicated staff and students. Last Friday we celebrated some of those students who have consistently demonstrated these qualities and earned a Lyrebird Award at our assembly. More exciting news from Stage 2! We had 6 talented students who made the finalist list in the spooky writing and art competition hosted by Loose Parts Press. On Saturday night we braved the Haunted Lawson event to find out who won. Congratulations to Isy and Sophie who were runners up in the art competition! Congratulations to Zander, Annie and Aiden who also received runners up / honourable mentions! A huge congratulations to Troy who took the first prize in the 7-9 year old competition! What an achievement! We are so proud of all of you! 🥳🤩😄

Today is the day that teachers worldwide are celebrated for their care of their students and their dedication to their profession. We will celebrate our wonderful teachers at St Canice's on Tuesday 4 November. We are moving the celebration to Tuesday because of the swimming carnival today. Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.

Stage 2 have been learning all about decimals. Today we put our brains and bodies to the test! We did some races and recorded our times to 2 decimal places. Then we did some hard thinking and ordered our numbers using our knowledge of decimals to see who was the fastest runner in Stage 2. Can you guess who it is? We also calculated the difference between the times of many runners using our skills of placing decimals on a number line. What a fun maths lesson!

We have exciting news! At the end of Term 3 Stage 2 entered a Spooky writing and art competition. And today we have been contacted to say we have two amazing artists and four amazing writers who are finalists and in the running to win the big prize! How exciting! The winners will be announced at a spooky event at Rosey Ravelston bookshop at Lawson next Saturday night (1st November) starting at 6 30pm. Congratulations to Isy Sophie Troy Aiden Zander Annie. Mrs Clarke and some other teacher will attend the event and we would love you to join us. This is a family friendly event that includes a scavenger hunt and is open to all.
