You're invited to our special event!
St Canice's Katoomba will be hosting a Sky Country 2025 Expo to celebrate what students have been learning in our Indigenous Education Program’s Term 3 unit of learning:
Sky Country – Solidarity and Hope: Learning Together Then, Now and Always.
We are excited to share this meaningful learning journey with you as we explore First Nations perspectives, connection to Country, and the hope we build by learning together — then, now, and always. By nurturing communities that understand and value Aboriginal perspectives and identity, we take steps toward a more just and inclusive future for all.
The Expo will feature:
- A smoking ceremony
- Student singing in Dharug and Gundungurra languages
- A cultural dance performance choreographed by local artist Jo Clancy from Wagana Dance
- Open classrooms showcasing student work from Term 3
We welcome the community into our school to immerse themselves in a day of ceremony and dance.
